Your answer to the many weather questions

No it is not hot yet. I am getting prepared because I have heard some stories. One person told me that all you want to eat is ice all of the time. Which will be great for my little extra chub. People are REALLY nice here. Everyone wants to talk to me all the time. I am in heaven as far as that goes. LOast but not least remember to watch Hells Kitchen on Monday night. This baker I work with is in it and he is SO sweet. Jeffery Dewberry. I am becoming a great cookie and vegan bar maker. It is nice to try something new. Miss you all. ann

here's a recipe you might need for those hot south'ren nights, dahlin'

Mint Julep (from the Savoy Cocktail Book as told by one Capt. Marryatte, skipper and novelist, who introduced the beverage to the British Isles: below the recipe in his own words)

"Put into a tumber about a dozen sprigs of the tender shoots of mint. Upon them put a spoonful of white sugar, and equal proportions of peach and common brandy, so as to fill up the tumbler. Epicures rub the lips of the tumbler with a piece of fresh pineapple, and the tumbler itself is often incrusted outside with stalactites of ice. As the ice melts, you drink. I once overheard two ladies talking in the next room to me, and one of them said, 'Well, if I have a weakness for any one thing, it is for a mint julep!' ... a very amiable weakness, and proving her good sense and good taste. They are, in fact, like American ladies, irresistible."
